So, uh, what -are- we supposed to do to doublecheck that things are working? -is- there a web-based administrator? -

toadskin Oct 15, 2002 12:13 AM (in response to mborland)There are several port 8082 references floating around in various JBoss 3.X getting started examples. Very happy to see that the issue resolved here (use jmx-console on 8080 instead) because it builds my confidence in being able to resolve issues as we tip-toe away from cash-money servers and into open source.

arbo Oct 23, 2002 4:30 PM (in response to mborland)Hi all. I'm just getting started with JBoss. I've always had some biases against open source products becuase my experiences have usually been that learning curves are steep and documentation is awful.
So I was dismayed to have trouble getting the 8082 administration feature working. I guessed that if I started reading through the forums that I'd find out the documentation is incorrect. I then found then this thread and it turns out that the documentation is incorrect. What a surprise.
OK, I had to vent a little there. I'm looking forward to getting past the learning curve, I do have good impressions of JBoss in general.
Now I need to figure out why, having followed the stops to get JBoss to start when the box boots, I can't it to start on bootup. Sigh. -
