Hi.

Unless this has been fixed, the JBoss Admin/Dev book is using { } style in JBossSX section, and refers to auth.conf in its text. This should be updated to 3.0x style and use login.xml.

unless, of course, the login-config.xml style doesn't actually work, which is what it looks to me like I'm finding.
