mmobarak Aug 12, 2004 12:51 PM (in response to balteo)OK, I just signed up, and of course there doesn't seem to be access to anything but the usual free stuff. It's two weeks since the first post on this thread and there doesn't seem to be a response from JBoss. Very lame, and frankly dishonest.

admin Aug 12, 2004 2:14 PM (in response to balteo)In just about every case, the reason for any problem has been a failure to fully complete the MemberPlus registration form. It's our (JBoss) fault that has been corrected now. Folks registering now cannot proceed until every *required* field has been completed.
For those of you that registered previously, I would suggest going back to your registration form and filling in any unfilled questions. You can get to your form by clicking on the 'My Account' link in the Member Menu. You will need to sign in first if you haven't already done so.
Sorry for the trouble.

gfarrow Sep 28, 2004 6:36 PM (in response to balteo)There is still nothing up there but the 3.23 admin guide.
Just a scam like their $99 documentation subscription. The whole point is obviously just to mine contact info so they can spam you to pay for production support. -

hany_bee Sep 28, 2004 10:16 PM (in response to balteo)Wow, I was thinking about paying for yearly subscription myself, then I decided to review what people think about the service.
And here I am, speechless!
Come on jboss, move your ass and get something done. That's not very professional, for a so-called "professional" company?
We have been using jboss for while, without the doco. But we'd like to take advantage of the cool features, so we'd pay for it. But I don't think you'll get any good press by promising like a drunk man without delivering! -

mpaquin Sep 30, 2004 9:00 AM (in response to balteo)Hello,
I also fill all required fields. and what I see when I click on FREE HTML ONLINE DOCUMENTATION documentation link? Just a link to downlaod version 3.2 of administration guide. Where is the html documentation for version 4. Do they exist?
What do you means by free html online documentation?

8. Re: Member plus access
admin Oct 1, 2004 12:24 PM (in response to balteo)The MemberPlus section of our website will continue to be enhanced with additional free HTML versions of our documentation. At present only the 3.2.X Admin and Developer's Guide is there but we'll add additional docs over time.
For-pay documentation will remain for folks that wish to receive PDF versions of the docs or print-on-demand copies mailed to them.
FYI, we're in the process of incorporating a new e-Commerce storefront to our website to make the purchasing of documentation, public training seats, and User's Conference passes easier. Look for something in the next few weeks. We'll start with training and the User's Conference first and then add the documentation (subscriptions add an extra level of complexity that we're trying to work thru).
Regarding being contacted as a MemberPlus member, you have the right to opt-out of receiving any JBoss communications. You can also unsubscribe anytime you'd like (there should be an unsubscribe link at the bottom of the e-mails). We will continue to send out informative e-mails to folks that still wish to receive them - for example news about our upcoming User's Conference, free Webinars, new training courses, etc... We will also be conducting a few surveys in the near term - for example what new areas would you like to see JBoss offer open source alternatives?, what new features would you like to see in Hibernate?, etc...
Hope this helps.
