How to prevent the frequently query execution

Hai every one
I am new to Jboss Cache.
I need to display the large amount of data in a dataTable.
I need to prevent the frequently executed query.
I need to display the page by using the cache data.
I need the query execution at beginning when i visit the page or after the cache expire.
i try to do with Page fragment caching. I found page data is in the cache but i can’t stop the query execution and still i am getting a poor load time.

i am not sure is there any logic need in my session bean side.
i try pojoCache in my session bean side
inject the org.jboss.cache.aop.PojoCache class in session bean side for implement the JBossCache.
this is what i am try

 PojoCache pojoCache;

 productList = (List<TblProducts>) pojoCache.get("productLiat", "hid");
 if (prodlis==null)
 {
 productList =em.createQuery("select t from TblProducts t where t.subcat="+ subcategoryName).getResultList();

} catch(CacheException e){
 e.printStackTrace();
 }

but i have problem with pojoCache.get method , it gives null pointer exception.
please any one suggest me how to stop frequently query execution .

I'd recommend caching at the JPA level not using POJO cache. Have you read about how caching works with Hibernate and JPA?

i try with following code , but still i got same problem,
this is what i am try

productList=em.createQuery("select t from TblProducts t where t.subcat="+ subcategoryName).setHint("org.hibernate.cacheRegion", "/Topic").setHint("org.hibernate.cacheable", true).getResultList();

the page load time is increased due to the query execution.
i meant the query always execute when i click the link from my home.
i invoke selectFromRequest() method by using s:link on my home.
this is the one of the link from my home

<s:link view="/TableList.xhtml" action="#{search.selectFromRequest}">TV
 <f:param name="subcategoryName" value="TV"/>

 </s:link>

i need to prevent the query execution often ,
i need the query execution at once when i visit that particular subcategory page , otherwise the data from the cache ,

Are your entities annotated as cacheable? See http://www.redhat.com/docs/manuals/jboss/jboss-eap-4.3/doc/hibernate/Annotations_Reference_Guide/Hibernate_Annotation_Extensions-Cache.html. You need to use the TRANSACTIONAL cache concurrency strategy with JBC.
