benedek.fazekas Nov 22, 2007 7:25 AM (in response to daniel.soneira)this is what i got
11:25:25,195 ERROR [jsp] :704 - Servlet.service() for servlet jsp threw exception
javax.faces.convert.ConverterException: java.text.ParseException: Unparseable date: "2007-11-55"
this results in my general error page defined in web.xml (<error-page>). meaning that the application fails because of not valid date.
i wonder how come you can not reproduce this... i tried today with todays snapshot: richfaces-ui-3.1.3-20071122.053525-25-bin.tar.gz. i still have the problem -

18. Re: calendar input rerender onchange
benedek.fazekas Nov 22, 2007 7:39 AM (in response to daniel.soneira)so the main problem at our side that the ConverterException does not get converted into a FacesMessage but "gets out". Daniel said -- if i understood right -- beforehand that this is because the DateTimeConverter is called during the render phase which should not be.

22. Re: calendar input rerender onchange
michael.vu Jun 18, 2012 10:26 AM (in response to akushunin)Sorry about opening very old issue.
but now I'm using Richfaces 3.3.3,
and I think current behavior of rich:calendar
"
Correct behavior - use converter.getAsObject on process validations phase.
In case of bad user input - converter will give conversion exception, display submitted value in input field, in calendar grid select last user selected day (if exists)."
is not quite good.
Why don't we display the last correct value in input field in case of bad user input?
E.g, current value is 18/06/2012, if users input 'asdf' then we should to give conversion exception, re-render and dispaly '18/06/2012' in input field, in calendar grid select '18/06/2012'.
is it better?
