Questions on running testsuite with IBM 1.4.2 JDK on Linux

'Morning everyone,

I'm trying to run the testsuite on Linux with an IBM 1.4.2 JDK and am seeing inconsistent behavior. Some tests (webservice) fail if run as part of the overall testsuite, but run successfully if executed as a discrete ant test target. I've also seen one - nonreproducible - seg fault on a JSF integration test case.

Are there known problems running the testsuite with the IBM 1.4.2 JDK? Many thanks!

There are some tests that have been know to fail when ran in conjunction with the overall suite. You might take a look at the following URL.

I have not personally seen results from the IBM jdk and the test results change from version to version and day to day. The best thing to do is to compare the results you are seeing with that of another jdk. Take a look at testsuite.jboss.com for a list of testsuite runs based on jdk and OS.

Thanks for the quick response - I have run the test suite with a Sun 1.5 JDK and have seen better (successful) results.

http://testsuite.jboss.com/ only lists results with Sun JDKs - do you know of any testing with the IBM or BEA JDKs? Thanks again!

P.S. Are you interested in getting a copy of the javacore file resulting from the org/jboss/test/web/test/JSFIntegrationUnitTestCase.java test?

Sorry - one final question - I'm able to run 99 44/100 of the test suite on an IBM 1.4.2 JDK by skipping the JSF and compatibility tests - this leaves 2941 test cases.

I'm having no luck running any subset of the suite on a BEA 1.4.2_08 JDK. The tests simply timeout failing to access port 1099 - which is reachable. Do you know of any results with a BEA JDK?

Have you tried removing the AOP tests when running against JRockit? Or when you say any subset, do you mean other targets besides the all-config-tests?
