1. Re: [panelMenu] extend and action problem
ilya_shaikovsky Sep 28, 2007 7:29 AM (in response to thedrake)1) This works fine for me under 3.1.1 RC
<rich:panelMenu mode="ajax" expandMode="ajax">
<rich:panelMenuGroup action="#{bean.action}">
<rich:panelMenuItem label="test" reRender="test" mode="ajax"/>
</rich:panelMenuGroup>
</rich:panelMenu>
2) not sure that understand you.
3) selectedChild(Panel Menu) and name(Item or Group) attributes are the right mechanism -
2. Re: [panelMenu] extend and action problem
thedrake Sep 28, 2007 8:59 AM (in response to thedrake)1. Ok thanks, I didnt put the extendMode...though mode="ajax" did that too...
3. SelectedChild selects the child (the font is different) but doesnt extend the node, at least on my computer.. am I doing it right ?
2. I think it's not a richfaces question...more of a JSF one. When I select a line in a SelectOneMenu, the hole page is refreshed...even the PanelMenu... I'm pretty sure this wasn't the case before I used Facelets.
"<h:" forms refresh automatically the hole page ? -

5. Re: [panelMenu] extend and action problem
thedrake Oct 1, 2007 7:40 AM (in response to thedrake)yeah it works but I don't know what is the good way to use it..
My way to see it : I got a backing bean containing a boolean for every expandable node and when I expend one, I put it at true, the others at false...
It's a little rough, but I can't find another way to do that... You maybe know ? -
6. Re: [panelMenu] extend and action problem
thedrake Oct 2, 2007 6:43 AM (in response to thedrake)Am I doing it the right way ? And it's costing me a session bean... which is never good :(

7. Re: [panelMenu] extend and action problem
maksimkaszynski Oct 2, 2007 11:37 AM (in response to thedrake)When you change page, you get another view - with its own view state.
What you get on new page is totally new hierarchy of components with their own states. So you will need to use session bean (or some persistence) anyway. -
