Project Management + Calendar Modules?

Hi, folks --

Are Calendaring and Project Management modules are in the works?

I'm about ready to start working on a Project Management site for a non-Profit in Boston. It'll support general purpose (primarily non-technical) projects as well as a special Silent Auction type of project. I've been thinking that Nukes platform would make a very good foundation on which to build this site. But before going out and trying to code a complicated new module from scratch, I'd rather make sure that isn't already something out there already that we could use and/or extend.

A note about the Silent Auction project type. It will have special features for managing catalog entries, their item(s), their documentation, and associating them with donor people/companies, plus the usual generic proj. mgmt. features like assigning tasks, etc.

I've look around a bit and can't seem to find any news on whether these two types of modules are coming. Please forgive me if the answer is out there & I overlooked it.

no - nothing is currently in the works by any of the core contributors.

That kind of modules is more related to groupware, having a bunch of modules on that area would be very good. You are welcome to contribute in that field.

I'm an information architect/usability specialist with an interest in groupware. Unfortunately, I don't program well. Whatever solution we go with, I'll be writing the use cases and creating the wireframes and letting the folks with the coding talent work their magic.

If we end up choosing the JBoss platform, then we'll more than likely contribute the code back into the Nukes project. After all, this is a project for a non-profit, and I'm not keen on our maintaining the codebase since we're all volunteers.

Company has Calendaring and Project management modules that are part of our CRM solution. We have not integrated with Nukes yet, but dont see any reason why it could not be done. Currently its running on a number J2EE appservers including JBoss 3.2.3.

Let me know if you would like to discuss this further or if there is further interest from the JBoss group in this type of functionality. We may be able to donate this code.
