I've been developing a management application that generates a 3d visualisation based on the management model exposed by the jsr77 MEJB.

The idea is to give an intuitive representation of a j2ee deployment where the deployment may not be familiar to the viewer.

My website includes java3d based demo applets:

Following a show of interest I put together a demo applet to illustrate how logging interceptors might be managed through such a model:

      ...and a snapshot:

Having worked for many years in the telecoms management industry I'm trying to get some feedback from the jboss and the open source j2ee community as to whether this type of tool could be of use in the day to day management of j2ee based systems.

      Any ideas?
      Is this of any interest?

it seems a little complicate to manage J2EE application through a 3D view?i dont know if it's very high efficiency. in my point of view, i think such a program should be like a normal window's or liunx's program, easy to use and understand.

Yes, for day to day management of a system you are familiar with and understand then a 3d model is probably complete overkill.

My thinking is more along the lines of the tool being useful in an enviroment, where you are managing multiple deployments, say a server farm, where you may not be familiar with a system.

Very high efficiency? well the 3d model is generated automatically and scene navigation is automated...

I don't see the tool as an alternative to existing management UIs rather I see it as something that would be used to integrate with and compliment existing UIs.

it's a new view for current existing view of servers, ejbs, etc. right? 3D ui is good, the sun's new java OS is also towards 3D and it's look great.
