rich:tabPanel data overhead

Hi,
I'm developing a sample application using rich:tabPanel, I measured the data transferred between browser and server when swicthing between two tabs of the same tab panel with switchType="ajax": the result is about 20KB, while the HTML code replaced is about 5KB.

Why is there so much overhead ? How can I avoid it ?
