1. Re: How can I add user without restart server?
acoliver Mar 3, 2005 3:00 AM (in response to haitt)You *should* if you change the way we packaged M2 and move the StaticUserRepostiory into its own seperate XML file in the deploy directory called bla-service.xml. However with the stuff in head I think we have DB storage of users already... The static xml stuff was just a starting point.

2. Re: How can I add user without restart server?
gohip May 3, 2006 12:18 PM (in response to haitt)I also am looking at ways to add and remove users dynamically, but Andrew, your last statement hints at a database, or storing them in database, and I am not seeing that.
I JBoss mail server still using the service config file? I added a user through web interface, and it persisted until i restarted jboss mail service, then it was gone.
What would be best way to implement this? I see the add user code, but no delete user code in StaticUserRepository.java
Also dont see where or when the user data is read from config file... -

pilhuhn May 3, 2006 12:28 PM (in response to haitt)(It is some time ago since I last looked at the code :-()
If the config file is an MBean with config in its DD, make it an XMBean and then use the XMBean persistence service to persist changes to the configuration. -

(you also need one to add the user to the JaasRepository).
This will be significantly simpler by M5 (and is already so in head).
By M6 you'll be able to do this via an admin GUI if all goes as planned. -
