Can you give more information? Does the login screen come up? Does the mail server even start? Are you able to send/receive mail with a POP3/SMTP client (like outlook, or thunderbird)?

          Thanks!

            Hello,

The login srceen doesn't come up.
I try the demo website you provide:http://sicore.com:8089/webmail/webmail.html.
            The error message in IE:
You must have Flash 9, beta 3 installed. (Sorry no Linux version yet) Get it in the Flex 2 beta 3 download section on http://labs.adobe.com/

            What should I install?

            Thanks.

does the web interface require flash? or can it be used as normal html webmail interface...I no like flash, just curious!

No. The web mail is indeed flash. There is a web 1.0 version of the calendar, but not mail. We do not ATM intend to develop another html mail client.

                    not a problem at all...

I suppose theres some open source web mail viewer, like the one everywhere I think it's "Horde"

                    I dont need one ATM

Well lets be clear on the JBCS Client strategy.

                      1. For 1.0 it is a webmail tool and really pretty with calendaring.
                      2. By ~1.5 it can also run "offline" by saving the swf file locally. You'll be able to select mails and stuff to take "offline"
                      3. By 2.0 (if not 1.0) you'll have full calendar offline + calendar syncronization.

So basically you'll have rich mode and "fat" mode. In OUR client we'll be able to provide features not available through open protocols (though our protocol will of course be open, it will be unique to us). We will of course integrate like the dickens with other open source and popular clients but the JBCS Client will have hte best bells and whistles just because all calendar protocols to date suck and mail protocols aren't a whole lot better!

I'd encourage you to get over your anti-flash issues. Flash is nearly as ubiquitous as Java and offers the same kind of benefits that Java offers for server-side for client-side. The Flex SDK makes it free to develop to and use for our purposes! This stuff is truly awesome!

With Flex its like 1998 all over again to me. Back when Java was cool and limitless. Yet I'm not even a client-side developer!

Yes I installed flash 9 beta3 and flexbuilder.

Did you install the right flash player for your browser? There are two installers for Windows - one for IE and one for Firefox, etc. I use both browsers so I installed both and it works fine both on the JBCS demo and on my local install.
