network password when try to run http;//localhost:8080/jmx-c

Hi,
I had downloaded jboss-3.2.3 and installed on windows 2000.I had set the env variable jboss_dist to jboss's installation directory.
From command prompt, i startd the jobss and it starts.it shows that 10:23:19,184 INFO [Server] JBoss (MX MicroKernel) [3.2.3 (build: CVSTag=JBoss_3_2_3 date=200311301445)] Started in 2m:413ms
This means that server had started.
Now when i type
http;//localhost:8080/jmx-console/index.jsp in browser, it prompts me to enter the network password i.e. username and password.
Is it so beacuse i had not installed network card on my m/c ?

Hi
I was totally wrong.Actually i have installed oracle 9i on my m/c.Even though i stopped oracle http server from services there was an oracleservices was running on 8080 port.so i changed the jboss's port setting to 8780 and it is working fine.

You should get a java.net.BindException from JBoss, indicating that the address/port was already in use. It pays to keep an eye on the console during startup, 'cos it can scroll past pretty fast and you won't spot it unless you check the log file.
