Error starting JMX console

I've started studying the JBoss anf I've got a problem.

I've started the server JBoss successfully. But when I try to start the JMX console (http://localhost:8080/jmx-console), it appears an error. The error is
Unable to find a javac compiler;

I've Windows XP and I've put the javac into the PATH. My PATH includes C:\Archivos de programa\Java\jdk1.5.0\bin

What am I doing wrong?

Have you set the JAVA_HOME environment variable?
