Hmm, but then why does it get updated after moving my mouse a bit?! And is there a way to set its initial value to the value from the backing bean, which would display immediately?

I am having exactly the same problem. any solution to this yet ?
In F.F the slider position itself correctly after some time but in IE it does not at all.
The behavior is definitely different between an ajax request and form submission.
... so cant believe it designed to be like this.
Will appreciate any help on this.
