I'm not discussing this in private e-mail or Skype.
Ruel. Yes we already agreed that projects can "go binary" provided they
have sufficient integration tests in the JBossAS testsuite.
The possiblity of doing a consolidatied run of all the unit tests across all the JEMS projects
is a feature request of the new build.
For now, we just need cruisecontrol running the unit tests of JBossCache in a separate "job". -

adrian.brock Aug 18, 2005 12:00 PM (in response to ruel.loehr)As a matter of principle, if JBossCache decided to release version x.y.z
and it was bug ridden, but passed the JBossAS integration tests, then that is
a problem for the JBossCache team releasing a crappy version. :-) -

ben.wang Aug 19, 2005 2:11 AM (in response to ruel.loehr)What's your point here, Adrian?
I think what's worthwhile for discussing here is what makes a good integration suite for JBossCache? Now, clustering components that use it like http session, and SFSB (not quite sure about Hibernate yet) all have some basic test in place already.
What's left is perhaps just basic MBean tests.

I'm saying JBoss Cache can be binary because it has integration tests.
Just don't:
break them - caught by the testsuite/cruisecontrol if you do
or
"fix them" - change the tests to hide incompatibilities across versions (not caught by cruisecontrol)
