NotSerializableException while trying to bind Cache Object t

Hi,

I am using Jboss Cache 3.0 with Jboss Portal (Jboss Core 4.2.3) and trying to bind Cache object to jndi. But somehow I am hit by the following exception.

Caused by: java.io.NotSerializableException: org.jboss.cache.invocation.CacheInvocationDelegate

any one can help me get around this exception ?

Make sure you bind to local JNDI (java: namespace)

Hmm that didn't help me. Not sure if I am doing it right.

I am using Spring JndiTemplate to bind to jndi tree. Here is the code snippet.

May be some one point me if something is wrong in doing this way ?

JndiTemplate jndiTemplate = getJndiTemplate();
 jndiTemplate.rebind("java:/jbossCache, this);

 private JndiTemplate getJndiTemplate() {
 Properties prop = new Properties();

 prop.put("java.naming.factory.initial", "org.jnp.interfaces.NamingContextFactory");
 prop.put("java.naming.provider.url", "localhost:1099");
 prop.put("java.naming.factory.url.pkgs", "org.jboss.naming");

 return new JndiTemplate(prop);
 }

I'd suggest you check out how JBoss AS binds the CacheManager to JNDI and try to apply a similar solution to your environment. This has been discussed in the JBC dev+user forums and JBoss Clustering user forums.
