XDoclet issues installing on Mac OSX

    jcrosbie

I have found the problem and it is partially addressed in the FAQ:

      http://www.jboss.org/wiki/Wiki.jsp?page=JBossIDEGeneralFAQ

I say partial because it seems like I needed to create the session bean from the tutorial before I got the XDoclet properties to show up.

Rather than have this information buried in the FAQ a note about what perspective is required should be in the installation instructions.

I have found that, provided you follow the tutorial exactly, you can generate XDoclet configs just fine.

However, the most important instruction to follow occurs on page 7. You must create a Java project, not a Simple one. If you fail to do this, then Eclipse will not prompt you to switch to the Java perspective and you won't be able to create the XDoclet or packaging configurations.

Incidentally, since the 1.2.2 version of JBoss-IDE, additonal JBoss-specific J2EE projects have been added as options. Those also work just fine.

By the way, since we're talking about XDoclet, does anyone have any thoughts to offer on my earlier post? I'm disappointed nobody has come up with any suggestions yet.
