    JBoss-IDE 1.5M3

    greno

      Using JBoss-IDE 1.5M3, Eclipse 3.2M2, Sun Java JDK 1.5
      Used Eclipse Update to load JBoss-IDE 1.5M3
      Restarted Eclipse.

      In following the JBoss-IDE tutorial, when I try to start the new project selecting JBoss-IDE | J2EE Projects | J2EE 1.3 Projects, I receive the following error:

      The selected wizard could not be started.

      Reason:
      org.eclipse.jdt.internal.ui.wizards.NewWizardMessages.getString(Ljava/lang/String;)Ljava/lang/String;

      Other types of projects like Java, EJB, seem to behave ok. Has anyone seen this before or know what is wrong?

          Ok, in looking through the installation history it looks as though the Update site installed JBoss-IDE 1.4.1 and not 1.5M3. Looks like the Update site needs an update. In reference to my problem with the tutorial project, is this error due to JBoss_IDE 1.4.1?

            Ok, I found the 1.5 update site: http://download.jboss.org/jbosside/updates/development
            Start again.

              I got the same error with 1.4.1. I had installed eclipse from eclipse.org and then updated automatically from the JBoss eclipse update site. There seems to be a problem with the New Wizard plugin. That seems to be resolved with 1.5 though, so no worries.

                Currently only the JBossIDE 1.5 development series is compatible with the stable Eclipse 3.1 APIs. We have not tested them against Eclipse 3.2 yet, but you are welcome to try =).

                The reason the update site gave you 1.4.1 is because you were using the "stable" update site, and JBossIDE 1.5 is still in development releases, which means it's currently only on the development update site here:
