File search not working until second try

I am using JBoss 1.5 Final release, and found the file search feature (pressing Ctrl+H) doesn't work well. Basically, it doesn't work to get the result in my first try. Then with the same unchanged search criteria, I have to press the Search button again to have the result. This problem existed in 1.5 RC2 and seems not exitst in RC1. Can anybody recommend a workround? Another question is how I can clean the file name patterns list under file search? Thanks!

what does "doesn't work well" mean ?

And from the sound of it this is something that is a standard eclipse feature, nothing jbosside specific, correct?

"doesn't work well" means it can't work first time and it works in the second try. I am not sure if it is a problem in Eclipse IDE, but as I said it works fine in RC1. Since RC2 it hasn't been working well. RC1/RC2 is using the same version of Eclipse so I don't know if that is a Eclipse problem.

Any idea cleaning file name patterns history in File search? Thanks!

and this is not because when you click the first time you have selected some resources and thus it will search in "Selected resources" and not the complete "Workspace" ?

I dont' use "selected resources" for search, I am using "enclosing project". In my second try I am still using the same "enclosing project".

Let me say I have two folders, build and web. If I choose enclosing project, it will show mathced result in both folders. If I choose selected resources, it only shows the result from build.

Please follow the following precedure to verify the problem,

1. Go to file search, enter something in containing text and choose your file name patern. Choose enclosing project. Click search button and there is no result.

2. Go to file search again, since there is no result found so workspace is selected automatically(enclosing project is disabled). Press search button, this time it will show you result.

3. Go to file search again, enclosing project is enabled this time. Choose it and click search button and then you get the result. I am not sure if the result is from the cache which is stored by step 2.

My question is why step 1 can't give me result.
