1. Re: How to start JBoss 3.2.8 AS from Eclipse 3.2?
maxandersen Aug 21, 2006 8:20 AM (in response to yilativs)afaik, jboss ide still allows that (since it launches it in debug mode by default)

Let's get back to my first question, if you don't mind ;-)
What version of JBoss IDE can start JBoss 3.2.8 AS on Eclipse 3.2
and does it need any additional plugin to run?
Thank you very much in advance.

maxandersen Aug 21, 2006 10:14 AM (in response to yilativs)Any JBossIDE 1.x and 2.x version should do that.
Please tell me what doesn't work exactly -
6. Re: How to start JBoss 3.2.8 AS from Eclipse 3.2?
rob.stryker Aug 21, 2006 10:17 AM (in response to yilativs)JBoss IDE alpha 1a can technically start JBoss 3.2.8, and it requires the webtools project to do so. Beta 1 should be released this month, and that, also, should be able to start jboss.
Both can start in debug mode. -

First of all, thank you for fast response.
Here is my problem:
I have WTP and JBoss IDE 2 are installed on Eclipse 3.2
I'm trying to create configuration with new server command
/opt/jboss-3.2.8/ - is parameter for application server directory
I resive message
Missing classpath entry -
/opt/jboss-3.2.8/server/default/lib/javax.servlet.jar
(this is known WTP bug, AFAIR they can start jboss-3.2.3 but bothing above in 3.2.x series)
So my question remains, is it possible to start JBoss 3.2.8 from JBoss IDE on Eclipse 3.2
Thanks in advance.

rob.stryker Aug 21, 2006 11:17 AM (in response to yilativs)Where is the "new server command" you are trying to use?
The proper method to create a new server using JBoss IDE 2.0 alpha or alpha 1a is to open either the Servers View, or the JBoss Server View. Then right-click and select "new -> server", then select the JBoss 3.2 server type (underneath JBoss Inc).
From there, press next, add in a home directory, select your JRE, and your configuration name. Then the server is created. You can then start it from the views I mentioned above. -

I found the cause of problem:
there are TWO JBoss folders in server's list.
I used the JBoss folder but the right way to start JBoss 3.2.8 was to use JBoss INC folder!
Thank you very much guys!
