1. Re: jboss ide server configuration
marvin_taboada Aug 24, 2006 10:25 AM (in response to senpoly)Depending of the version of JBoss IDE you do from diferent places
In 1.5.x and 1.6.x you do it from the Window-->Preferences-->Server--Installed Runtimes...
(For Better results use Eclipse 3.1 with this dists )
From 2.0.x you do it from a new view 'JBoss Server View', you can open it from Window-->Show View--Other-->[Server-->JBoss Server View]
Once you open that view, {right click on the view body-->New--> Server }
JBoss IDE 2.0.x is based on Eclipse 3.2 (Callisto) or maintenance release
Happy testing, an better debugging

pachecouy Aug 31, 2006 3:33 PM (in response to senpoly)I can see that view but I can't add a remote JbossAS server 4.0.4 that runs in another machine of my network; i've tried everithing. I'm really bored with this. When I change localhost by the IP of the server the list of servers change to empty.
My running things:
SO: Debian GNU/Linux (both)
Java: sun jdk 1.5 (both)
Eclipse: 3.2
JBoss IDE: latest from update site /development
Really thank you. -
3. Re: jboss ide server configuration
rob.stryker Aug 31, 2006 3:41 PM (in response to senpoly)There is no implemented way to do any of the following:
- find a remote server
- start a remote server
- stop a remote server
- copy a file to a remote server
- twiddle a remote server
- create a remote server
- talk to an already-in-existance remote server
In short... if its not on your machine, it does not exist. -
4. Re: jboss ide server configuration
pachecouy Sep 4, 2006 12:24 PM (in response to senpoly)Thank you!!. Now I have eclipse and jboss in the same machine and i can create the jboss server under eclipse.
Now I want to create a botton-up web service strating from a java class and deploy it to my Jboss server. How can i do this?
I know this couldn't be the correct place to post this, if that, my apologies.
I've tried with the WTP tutorial to create a botton-up web service but in the wtp wizard when I select my JbossAS server the wizard complains saying this in red: "JBoss AS 4.0 does not support the Apache Axis Web service runtime. Choose a different server or runtime to proceed through the Web services wizard."
Is JBossAS compatible with WTP to create a web service?
Another question:
Can I create and deploy a web service using jboss Eclipse ide? -

rob.stryker Sep 6, 2006 11:02 AM (in response to senpoly)Sad to say, this is not yet implemented, but I've saved the tutorial link and will look into it.
Sorry if that's not very helpful. -

tdemuth Sep 7, 2006 11:29 AM (in response to senpoly)I think it is appropriate to post my need for support here as well:
I'm running JBoss-IDE 2.0.0-beta on Windows XP with JBossAS 4.0 and trying to do the JBoss-IDE tutorial. Unfortunately I can't configure the AS as shown in the tutorial because of the changes made to the IDE since version 1.5.
Can you help me to configure the AS?
thanks a lot,
Tobias
