How to deploy an EJB3.0 project using JBossIDE 2.0.0Beta2

I created a EJB3 project (Project -> EJB3.0 -> EJB3.0 Project) and a Server Profile using the JBoss Inc Template. Everything works so far (Start/stop the server from the server view, create a few EJB's).

I couldn't find a way to deploy my project to the configured server. The old style "run on server" method doesn't seem to work with the new style server profiles.

I tried to add my project to the server profile (right click on the server in the JBoss Server View tab -> Add and remove projects) but it tells me "There are no projects that can be added or removed from the server" in a MsgBox.

Any suggestions ?

For Beta 2, you will need to use a packaging configuration to turn it into a proper jar, and then select the jar and run THAT on the server.

This will be fixed by beta 3

So it is impossible to debug EJB3 with JBoss IDE Beta2?
So we can use latest IDE just as a compiler and packager?
If I am wrong and it is possible, could you please describe how?

I´m tryng to create an application witj JPA , EJB3 in Jboss but i had some problems . SomeWhere have a complete example aplicatiion that i can see how to package an aplication and have one ear or war archive that jboss deploys without problems

No it should be perfectly possible to debug ejb3 applications the same as you debug any.

Start JBoss in debug mode using JBoss IDE, in the servers view or the JBoss Servers View. Make sure the source tab of the launch configuration includes the project you want to debug.

Package and deploy your project.

Set your breakpoints.

Run your test client.

Watch your breakpoints get hit.

1.5's packaging was just a front end for ant. If you know ant, the packaging will seem easy to you.

First enable packaging for the project. Then basically set it up using ant patterns for file inclusion and exclusion, etc.

Or go learn ant ;) Ant = for packaging
