Mac support for new Exadel-based IDE

    nils_kassube

The existing version of Exadel's Eclipse toolset is only tested under Linux und Windows. Does JBoss plan to support Mac OS X or is it time to jump ship (to NetBeans, of course not the OS :-) ?

      Cheers,
      Nils

          Hi Nils,

Please note that the only feature that does not work on Mac OS X today is the visual part of the JSF/HTML editor.

All the other parts is confirmed by other Mac OS X users to work fine if you take the plugins from the linux distro.

We does have it as a priority to make the visual editor work under Mac OS X but it's only been about 8 hours since we could actually start working on it ;)

Hey Nils, any update on this? I'd love to be able to do my JSF work in Exadel on my Powerbook! :-)

If you know how to compile Mozilla 1.6 (not 1.8) for Mac OS-X then let us know ;)

That is what is preventing us currently from supporting the visual editor on Mac.

What's the issue there? Just being able to do it? Mozilla.org has 1.6 for OS X in the available downloads list so I know that someone knows how and that it's possible.

Check out mozilla-1.6 from mozilla cvs and compile it, then tell us how and we will have mac support for the current plugins.

Noone at Mozilla we know (or in the public forums) have been able to tell how to do it and our own attempts (including some very hardcore mac guys failed to compile 1.6)

Note: 1.8 is a breeze to compile but has undergone some big changes in some of the API we use; so we would rather do that in concert when we move to eclipse 3.3 where XULRunner is more easily available.

i'am using RHDS 4.0.4a on Mac OS X, code completion works for Java files but doesn't work for facelets xhtml (web) pages...i don't want visual editor to work, only code completion in web pages is sufficient for me.. what should i do in order to code completion(content assist) work for xhtml files?

                    regards....
