showModalPanel depending on serverside validation

Hi,

I am using a dataTable, everytime I click on a column I read my details from the server, however I want to popup a richModalpanel when ever the record has a special note against it.

I have used oncomplete to show the modal panel, but how can I add a check on that, EL did not work or perhaps I have not done it correctly.


What is the best practice?

Well actually I figured it out, I used componentControl as show below.
