Basic question about jboss WS-Addressing samples

Hello,
I am in reference to the WS-Addressing samples. I am trying to understand where the information (ie the items) are stored in between client invocations. Bearing in mind that the StatefulEndpointImpl webservice is stateless, where is the clientStateMap variable stored? On disk? In memory?
Any clue welcome.

In the example its a static property, hence visible by all instances
