1. Re: Null pointer exception when using JBOSSWS 1.0.4 GA vesio
cjlogan1 Dec 29, 2006 7:21 PM (in response to ichunlin)I had the same problem, finally found that the JBossWS documentation is wrong! In the configuration, the "<wsdl-java" attribute is "location={file}" not "file={file}" as the documentation shows. Changing "file=" to "location=" corrected the problem and it generated my Java source. Hope it helps...

sramesha27 Jan 10, 2007 3:04 PM (in response to ichunlin)I am having the same problem. I am not creating the config file, instead I am trying the "JBossIDE JBossWS Web Services -> [[interface node]] -> JBossWS -> Generate" to generate the artifacts. How to over come this?

thomas.diesler Jan 11, 2007 8:47 AM (in response to ichunlin)Now the parser is validating, you therefore get
Caused by: org.xml.sax.SAXException: cvc-complex-type.3.2.2: Attribute 'file' is not allowed to appear in element 'wsdl-java'. @ *unknown*[16,56] at org.jboss.xb.binding.parser.sax.SaxJBossXBParser$MetaDataErrorHandler.error(SaxJBossXBParser.java:348)

4. Re: Null pointer exception when using JBOSSWS 1.0.4 GA vesio
sramesha27 Jan 11, 2007 9:39 AM (in response to ichunlin)As I mentioned in my post, the JBossWS -> Generate tool creating the config file with the wrong attribute "file" instead of "location". I have changed the attribute to "location" and run the wstools.bat manually and was able to generate the artifacts. I guess this is a bug in JBossWS.
Moreover this generation is not generating the implementation class and only the interfaces. Instead the JBoss IDE's create new Web Services Client will create the Java Proxy for us to use it easily. -

clebert.suconic May 17, 2007 12:16 AM (in response to ichunlin)Can you guys fix the documentation please?
I have spent two-three hours of my time trying to figure out this today...
And it's even worse.. wstools doesn't throw any message unless you do ant -debug
Even worse... $JBOSS_HOME/bin/wstools doesn't include all the needed client jars. -

clebert.suconic May 17, 2007 12:20 AM (in response to ichunlin)Or at least change ToolsHelper to do some sanity check.. and throw a proper message saying.. "You User didn't set Location property as expected!"
if null.. throw a message to System.out than fail the ant task/batchpublic void handleWSDLToJavaGeneration(Configuration config, String outDir) { WSDLToJavaConfig w2jc = config.getWSDLToJavaConfig(false); GlobalConfig glc = config.getGlobalConfig(false); WSDLToJava wsdlToJava = new WSDLToJava(); wsdlToJava.setTypeMapping(new LiteralTypeMapping()); WSDLDefinitions wsdl = null; try { URL wsdlURL = null; try { wsdlURL = new URL(w2jc.wsdlLocation); } catch (MalformedURLException e) { // ignore } if (wsdlURL == null) { File wsdlFile = new File(w2jc.wsdlLocation); <<<<---- Here.. if (wsdlFile.exists()) { wsdlURL = wsdlFile.toURL(); } }
