Suggestionbox slow to render on Internet Explorer 6

      Hi,
I'm using the suggestionbox pretty much straight from the simplest example in the manual. I'm returning a simple list of strings - usually 10-20 characters each. When I press a key and the server returns around 50-70 list entries beginning with that letter, IE takes around 5 seconds to completely render the page (ie the scroll bar on the suggestion list responds again).
I don't have this problem with Firefox, even with much larger lists.
I guess this is to do with IE 6 javascript or rendering - this isn't really my area unfortunately.
Is there anything I can do to speed up the suggestionbox handling on IE6 please?

I'm using Richfaces 3.1.3GA. Desktop spec - Win XP SP2, 2GHz intel cpu, 2gb RAM

      Cheers

I've just spotted http://jira.jboss.com/jira/browse/RF-176 reporting the same thing. Sorry for the duplicate.

Unfortunately it was closed with 'no fix', stating this is an IE6 bug that works better in IE7. All my users are on IE6 though so I guess I need to find another component. Can anyone suggest an alternative please that's compatible with Richfaces - I'm impressed with RF and using several other of its components.

The Tomahawk inputsuggestajax works for a while then freezes IE after about ten page refreshes. I haven't tried the Blueprints software but I've read that it doesn't mix very well with other libraries. I haven't managed to get Icefaces to run with RF yet.

          Cheers.
