Setting a Timestamp for Created and Updated Using EJB 3.0 En

I am trying to do some testing of EJB 3.0 entity beans.

In the past I would simply set values for "NOW" in the SQL statement for created and updated.

What is the best way to do this with an EJB 3.0 entity bean?

BTW: Does the "Notify me when a reply is posted" option work for the JBoss forums?

can you elaborate? I don't know what you mean with "NOW"

In MS SQL Server:
INSERT INTO tblUser WITH (ROWLOCK)
(firstName, lastName, Created)
Values (?, ?, GETDATE())

In MySQL:
INSERT INTO tblUser WITH (ROWLOCK)
(firstName, lastName, Created)
Values (?, ?, NOW())

I could create a Timestamp field in the user object and set the system time; however, I thik there might be a more elegant way to do this.
