rich:dataGrid generating odd html

I am attempting to get a rich:dataGrid to work, and am getting the following error even with the most basic example - taken from the richfaces livedemo.

XML Parsing Error: mismatched tag. Expected: </tbody>.

I have discovered I get the same 'mismatched tag' error even if I have nothing at all except for:

<rich:dataGrid>
</rich:dataGrid>

please check latest 3.1.4 GA. Such bug was fixed some time ago.
