JBossESB 4.0_Alpha1 released

I'm pleased to announce that the JBossESB team have just released version 4.0_Alpha1 into the public svn repository. This is pretty much just a slightly refactored and updated version of the Rosetta codebase. Expect more changes as we move towards the beta release in a few weeks time.

If you want to play with it, you should check out trunk and specifically ESBCore within that location. Post comments and questions into the forum and the team will get back to you asap (don't post queries as replies to this topic though.)

There is a very small example test case I added, expect some more as we move forward with builds, etc. I would like you guys in the community to start sending us your test cases if you end up using the code to actually do interesting things with it.

Would http://anonsvn.labs.jboss.com/jbossesb do as well? I do not seem to be able to login to https://svn.labs.jboss.com/labs/jbossesb at the moment.

Yes. You need committer access for the svn.labs repository.

So that svn URL is actually "http://anonsvn.labs.jboss.com/labs/jbossesb". The URL above is missing the "/labs" dir.

Are there JUnit test suites for the new codebase? Just wondering i.e. for regression testing as we evolve the design!! Obviously they can sometimes be a useful comprehension tool too :-)

Will the builds be staying as Ant builds or are we interested in moving them to Maven?

Path of least resistance at the moment. ant for sure. Maven probably not until 2007.

We actually already had it migrated to Maven (1) before I left the company... Not sure why we didn't get that in the release we got.

I would like to see us using Maven as well, but right now there's no cycles for it, unless someone volunteers and does it - hint hint...

Sure, I'll help out wherever you guys want - adding regression tests, switching to maven, or whatever :-)

If ye're on for moving over to maven ( :-) ), I'll sort it out once I get my broadband connection sorted out at home - which should be soon. It's prob least disruptive to do this on a weekend i.e. when svn traffic is low. It will require moving files around a bit so...

Hi Mark, I'm looking for the svn archive for JBoss ESB, can you throw me a link?  I tried the links in this thread but they are coming up "not found".  Is there someplace that such things are posted?  Thanks...
