1. Re: AJAX4JSF + RichFaces + JSF settings in Eclipse j2ee Euro
viggo.navarsete Feb 20, 2008 2:09 AM (in response to smanaqvi83)Hi,
a lot of questions, and I have a question back to you:)
Are you planning to use Ant or Maven?
If yes, then you will probably get a lot of help by the many maven plugins around.
- maven-war-plugin can help you package your project
- maven-cargo-plugin can help you deploy your project
URL's to the projects are here:
http://maven.apache.org/plugins/maven-war-plugin/
http://cargo.codehaus.org/Maven2+plugin
So, if the answer to my question is "Maven", then you will probably be able to solve all your challenges using the above mentioned plugins. -

smanaqvi83 Feb 20, 2008 2:17 AM (in response to smanaqvi83)Hello:-
No. I am not using ANT or MAVEN.
I searched across the net for this problem. But I get no satisfactory answer. The tutorials are only about JSF and Eclipse. That's why I have posted it on Forum that I'll found the developer who have or who should be working on this scenario. -

viggo.navarsete Feb 20, 2008 2:47 AM (in response to smanaqvi83)okey...well, have you searched for eclipse plugins that fit your requirements?
Eclipse war plugin: http://jakarta.apache.org/cactus/integration/eclipse/webapp_plugin.html#features
Eclipse deploy plugin:
http://www.eclipse-plugins.info/eclipse/plugins.jsp?category=Deployment
or, you could use the "Eclipse Europe Java EE Developers" bundle. I think it should contain the things you need:
http://www.eclipse.org/downloads/moreinfo/jee.php
or, you could try the MyEclipse project:
http://www.myeclipseide.com/
But, just curious: Why are you not planning to use Maven or Ant? -

viggo.navarsete Feb 20, 2008 2:52 AM (in response to smanaqvi83)When it comes to tutorials...have you looked at the Richfaces demo site?
http://livedemo.exadel.com/richfaces-demo/index.jsp
It contains tons of examples how to use all of the Richfaces and Ajax tags. Eclipse is just an IDE for developing applications, adding Richfaces/Ajax behavior to your applications should just be a matter of adding some Richfaces specific information to your web.xml file, adding some jar files (if you would have chosen to use Maven, it would be a matter of adding dependencies to your pom.xml file) and you would be ready to develop highclass web applications using JSF + Richfaces with AJAX behavior.
If you also take a look at the Developer guide you would be guided through what is needed in web.xml and so on...
