<property name="hibernate.hbm2ddl.auto" value="create-drop"/>
All tables I recreated remain the same (no change). I do not understant why. Thank you for your response.

create-drop specifies that a table should be created if it does not exist and dropped when the AS is turned off.
Therefore, your tables were being created and dropped during the life of the server. By specifying update (which i think may be the default), the tables are created if needed, and updated as necessary - but never dropped.
