scrollabledatatable won't sort by columns

I'm trying to get the scrollableDataTable component to sort by clicking on a column header. I have sortMode set to "single". What else do I need to do to get the sorting functionality to work? Right now, when I click on a column heading, it clears all the data in the table. The documentation for this feature is non-existent from what I can find.

what is your version? there are still couple of bugs present,.
