calendar control wont work,if we dont pick the date while ed

While Date field ,If i dont pick the date it wont work.

I have to select year,month,date everything to reflect/change to the date value.

Example: date filed= 22/10/2007
If i try to change the yesr 2007 to 2006.It wont reflect.
I have to select date,month,year to reflect.

help/suggestion would be great appreciate.
