modalPanel - tabPanel - suggestionbox ->odd man out?

I#M trying to get a suggestionbox on a tabPanel working. actually it works fine as long as i set switchType="server". the problem is that the tabPanel itself is placed on a modalpanel and as soon as i switch to another tab the modalpanel hides. the other approach was to set switchType="ajax", which kept my modalpanel open but didn't call the java method for the suggestionbox. so after one entirely wasted day i'd be more than happy if someone could give me a clue...

found something: the whole thing works as soon as i remove the form-tag in the first tab (suggestionbox is placed in the second tab). however the first tag has some entry fields that needs to be submitted, so i can't do without it...

You could try to nest the whole tabPanel inside of a form.
