You using NONE as parser? Set NEKO parser then, just standard h:input escaped characters itself in this way and this wrong while using facelets and ajax updates.

you should use some of them. Because this is the problem of standard JSF components renderers.. So we can do nothing there.
Use NEKO parser. It will works much faster than TIDY. But be carefully with markup which only slightly corrected in this case by parser.
