1. Re: Remote-Lookup over HTTP fails with mod_jk
twiedenmann Jul 9, 2008 4:42 AM (in response to twiedenmann)Ok,
still not working :-(
Some more information i found out:
It looks like the Apache Proxy cannot replace all references to the remote machine, as the client at first talks to the apache - but then tries to reach the real JBoss. But the JBoss is not accessible for the client.
I'm thinking about a proxy JBoss instead of apache, which recieves all requests and forwards them to the real machine ...

Sorry, but I don't know the answer to your question - it's outside of my area.
I'd suggest trying the "Tomcat, HTTPD, Servlets & JSP" forum: http://www.jboss.com/index.html?module=bb&op=viewforum&f=50.
Good luck. -

twiedenmann Jul 17, 2008 4:12 AM (in response to twiedenmann)Hello Ron,
thank you for your reply.
In the meantime i gave it up to proxy the JBoss for the Application using JBossRemoting.
I have the JBoss now directly connected to 443 resp. 8443 - with some kind of a strange feeling about Security, Reliability, Scalability ...
The last thing i figured out using a traffic sniffer (Wireshark) is, that the response to the 3rd request contains the URL of the backend server, which i wanted to hide.
I dont know if this is a response to a JNDI lookup or a EJB Invoker or why this URL is needed ...
Best regards & thanks for the Remoting-Project itself !!
