When to use EJB container and when Remoting ?

Dear all,
I have read some chapters about Remoting, I wonder if there's a guidline which explains when you need to deploy your application to an EJB container and when you should rather use Remoting..can you give me some clues ?

I am new to Remoting too :-) But based on the documentation that i have seen, Remoting is a framework for communication between processes. EJB container on the other hand provides you many more services like transactions, security etc...

It depends on what features of J2EE you want IMHO. Using EJB in JBossAS and making an invocation will eventually let you use Remoting directly by using Remoting API or indirectly by using the standard J2EE method invocation API.
