    Nice new look, but....

I like the new look alot. Great improvement Koen. But.... ;-)

The difference in look between 'normal' nodes like start, end, state, task and the decision is a little small. Any chance this will become a little more explicit? The same is true for the start and end.

What I'm realy saying is: "What is the reasoning behind making these plain squares?"

Well, rectangles or not, I do like the fancy new look. I'll have to play with the features to see about those, but its certainly coming along well.

Having just modified the process image tag in the webapp, keeping the rectangles is good for that. It should still look ok as is. Other shapes would look strange because the outlines are themselves rectangles.

there is a good deal of reasoning and motivation behind the new look. i hope that koen finds some time soon on writing that down (in a wiki page?).

then we are very interested to here your feedback on the motivations and you think we managed to achieve this in the actual result.

            regards, tom.

Right, I will try to write an article about it and maybe submit a BOF proposal for the upcoming JavaPolis conference. It has a lot to do with the ability to show more or less detail, i.e. to project the information necessary for the two most important kinds of users we envision (programmers and process analists). No doubt there is a trade-off between uniformity of the different node 'stereotypes' and the ability to distinguish between them. All feedback is very welcome...

              Regards,
              Koen

yes, a BOF at javapolis about the process visualization and node-layout would be a very good idea !!! i would like to hear some publicity and feedback on this cause i think it is *huge* and awsome.

                regards, tom.
