Cannot build deploy samples on jboss

I downloaded the RichFaces 3.2.0 GA using svn and I was able to build it . But I am unable to deploy the samples war file on to jboss . I tried to deploy the calendar-sample.war on jboss. I am getting the following error on jboss 4.2.1.
Exception sending context initialized event to listener instance of class com.sun.faces.config.ConfigureListener
java.lang.NullPointerException:

If I deploy the same war on Tomcat it works . Is there a command to build a war for jboss . I am unable to find any FAQ entry for this

How you collected war a file?
You most likely have collected war under tomcat.
Try so:
mvn install -P jboss42
