    Testing a workflow

I would appreciate hearing thoughts on how to go about testing a workflow.
(Yes, I've seen the simplistic examples in the distribution)

Once a complex workflow is deployed, you want to test the workflow within that environment, meaning inside an app server, not in some stand-alone test.

A cursory search on the web points to cactus but I'm curious what others have done.

Depends on the amount of money you have. You could use tools from Mecury Interactive if you can afford them (>$100.000), use tools from apperfect ($500) or use opensource tools like cactus or grinder or something like that. We, in the company I work for are using cactus, but to realy test the workflow, I adviced using the TTD as Tom uses.
