Create Workflow Definition with dynamic duedate

    dclancey

      Hi,
When creating a workflow definition with a timer, is it possible to create that workflow definition with a dynamically determined duedate?

Or, is it possible to create a Timer programmatically with the duedate retrieved from a ContextInstance value?

      Thanks

Yes, search the forum, I've answered this 2+ times now.

Thanks for replying, I was almost getting to a point that.......... ;-)

            Have a nice weekend

              WOW!!!

Search the forums? Who would have thought of that????

              GENIUS!!!

The only thing more genious would be to include something useful in your reply such as
              1. The best keywords to use?
              2. THE ACTUAL URLS OF THE POSTS!!!

I looked through the User Manual, some of the JBPM source code, and did a quick check in the forum. Apparently I did not use the best choice in search terms.

I thought I might ask the community while I continued searching. If there was a post I was missing due to a poor selection of search terms, perhaps someone in the community might be able to provide a friendly, helping hand.

              Thanks.

As a follow up, someone might consider placing this information in the FAQ.

Shoot, now I do have to respond....

                  GENIUS!!!

Thanks for the compliment, cpob and I accept this with great modesty

1: Is it so hard to think of those yourself?
2: It's not our job to do your work

If you were searching the forum, and did not find anything (yet) at least say so, post the search terms u used (prevents others who might try to help you to make the same mistakes)

btw, both google and the searchfunctionality of this forum give results which help by just using the words 'timer' and 'create' So I hope (realy hope) you at least tried those....

Again, we help.... a lot.... but are not supposed to do your work.

Feel free, you may even start a more technical FAQ...

And to end with a Cameron Purdy statement....Peace (and have a nice weekend)

Gosh... I am sorry if I bothered you or interfered in your day.

I certainly did not intend for you, or anyone else, to do my work.

Your clear implication that I not clever enough to search the forums and now that I am lazy is very kind of you indeed.

Having not posted much to the JBoss forums, I thought I would see is someone could point in the right direction. I did not idly post that request nor did I do it after just a couple of minute of looking through documentation or searching. Spent some time going through documentation and did a couple of quick searches, possibly too specific, for what I was interested in finding out.

I guess my understanding of the using the JBoss forums was incorrect and I will avoid posting questions in the future.

I wasn't (at least not intentionally) trying to be rude when I replied. I just remember posting about it at least twice in the last week or so.

What I usually do, when I post on forums after searching for something with no results... I mention in my first post my previous search results. Don't wait to tell us until after the fact. Present all important information up front if possible. It makes it easier for everyone else, and it makes your post more attractive to help out with.
I probably would have given you a link to my post if I knew you previously searched.

Now, you're complaining that including something useful in my post would have helped. Technically I did - I left my user name. You can search by it, and there's a thread that comes up called Timer.

It just happens that too many people ask way too simple/obvious questions that have been answered so many times, so we get quick to just 'give up'.

                        Thank you for the reply.

                        I genuinely appreciate the clarification.

I do understand that the JBoss teams gets LOADS of posts from people who have not bothered to read the documentation, look at the examples, or search the forums.

                        Thanks, again.

I'm not on the JBoss team, and I don't think kukeltje is either (but I might be wrong). We are just developers, using jBPM, and trying to give back.

No sweat. I've been staring at jBPM for 2 months now maybe, and it is hard to not talk about anything else. ;)

Correct, I'm not a jboss employee either, just a user and doing some developing (but the forum takes up so much time that development is continously not very productive)

Maybe I should drop my signature to prevent people associating me with JBoss.
