Rich:datatable - Displaying selected no. of columns

Hi,

can you please help me with this datatable issue. I have nearly 15 columns from the back end table to displayed on web. I would like to display 5 columns in the content area of the web and then the user can see the remaining columns as they scroll thru the table.

I set the width="400px" but it is displaying all of the columns and the table is going way beyond the layout of the page. I see the "rows" attribute to limit the no. of rows to be displayed. Is there anything like it to display limited columns and then the remaining can be seen by scrolling thru the table?

Thanks for your suggestion. Scrollabledatatable worked for me.

Can I ask you this question. I do have a number of rows and scrollabledatatable fits that as well. I would like to have it with datascroller with the pagination option. But when I tried the pagination, it not moving to the pages in the correct order - say you click next and it move to the 3rd page instead of moving to the next page. I am using richafces version 3.1.3. Can you please suggest me if there is a way to get this right?

scrollable table doesn't tested carefully with paggination in 3.1.3 version. Because it's designed to be scrolled via own scrolls.

B.t.w latest releases are 3.2.1 SR1 and 3.1.5

Hi Ilya,

Thanks a lot for responding to my message.

I tried pagination option using datatable and datascroller. This is when the pagination did't work consistenly as expected. That is - when the next page is selected, it moved to the 3rd page instead of the next page, etc.

So, I ended up using the scrollabledatatable. But, my users are willing to see the pagination option and not the scrollabledatatable. I am using IBM RAD 7 which supports JSF 1.1 Can you please advise how I can get the pagination to work?
