leelavathic Oct 21, 2009 8:05 AM (in response to leelavathic)rich:extendedDataTable works.
But I have a requirement to specify the height and width in percentage not px. rich:extendedDataTable works fine with px not percentage.
Is there any attribute of this component which enables the height and width to be specified in percentage? -

ilya_shaikovsky Oct 21, 2009 8:18 AM (in response to leelavathic)actually if some parent container will have size in px specified - extended table should be rendered fine if both columns and table witdth's defined in %

8. Re: Vertical scrollbar in rich:datatable with fixed header
aldian00 Jan 26, 2011 5:46 AM (in response to ilya_shaikovsky)Hi I have the same problem, but the usage of rich:extendedatatable won't work for me, because it is a very heavy components which brings tons of functionnality I don't need. When I tried to use it, the load was of 750k jsf + 750k js, and it took about 12s for IE8 to display the page, so I will definetely stuck with the simple datatable.
All I need now is just to add a vertical scrollbar with fixed header. I tried to apply the css attributes (height:400px; overflow-x:hidden, overflow-y:auto) to the tbody, but It worked only in Firefox, with some unrequested side effects.
So I took a look about how it was done in the extended datatable, and it seems the use some intermediary div in the tbody to enclose the data, and they apply the css style to those divs.
Do you know a clever workaround?
