building new node type, and including in designer

Hi Guys,

just wondering if there is documentation on building a new node type and including that in the eclipse designer plugin so none dev types can build flows using it, in our case the node will read from the database and then depending on the result, transition accordingly,

Hi Ross,

It is not yet fully possible to do this without a lot of knowledge of the designer. We are working towards making this possible in a more smoothly manner. Once it is done, I'll try and write up an article that explains how to do this. One of the guys here who has a lot of knowledge about it is Matthew Sandoz. Maybe he can chime in.

no problem, for now I'll add those custom nodes in by hand, and pick up with the designer whenever it is available,

I am sure I saw a blog post on this topic with diagrams and instructions, but I can not remember where I read it...

Basically its the last piece of the puzzle before I implement some fairly large business processes with the designer and demo to a client,

perhaps the blog post was from Matthews blog?

Really? I haven't seen anything about it until now. But if you find it I am most interested. Sure let me know where I can find it then.

Racking my brain trying to remember where I saw that, no luck so far, sorry.

On a separate note, maybe you can help me with a question regarding licensing. I am looking at the sample jbpm-console webapp, which does more or less what we need for our project, minus a few css tweaks really, what are the licensing rules that apply to that... can we just reuse with look and feel changes, or do we need to create a new webapp, using similar ideas ?

the webapp is, just like the rest of jBPM under LGPL. I think that CSS tweaks are not a problem.
