Parameter and other EL-related questions

Hi,

is there any chance to pass parameters within EL as you can for example with the Seam enhanced EL?

For example I would like to do the following

{myVar.setFoo('bar')}

Further is there any chance to reference an enum-value within an EL?

For example:

{myVar.foo == MyEnum.BAR}

It seems as if the possibilities with EL are very limited then.
So what do you do in cases you want to call a setter while entering a node.
Do you always define an ActionHandler?

yes, currently we (I) do, but you can also use scripting
