We are working towards such a solution right now. We want the users to be able to choose their own container framework: the default native implementation, or full blown Spring or JBoss Microcontainer.

when jbpm needs services, it will fetch them from the object factory. by default, the jbpm (simplistic, but with special jbpm support) object factory is used. but you could also plug in spring to deliver services to jbpm.
but we won't have the time to implement the classes to make the bridge (template?), but that should be straight forward.
