i added email support in jPDL. this became possible after the introduction of the expression language.
it is checked into cvs. please have a critical look. there's a chapter in the docs and there are unit tests. those are the best places to get started to have a look.
(to build the docs, you need the docbook-support module from jboss cvs besides jbpm.3)
