configurability of ExpressionAssignmentHandler

Is there a reason it is not configurable? The docs say, just extend it, but how to use it then is another issue since it seems hardcoded in JpdlXmlReader.

No reason, just a flaw that needs to be fixed AFAIK...

ok, I'll file a jira issue for this. Should it become a service like all others? Or should the indentity component become a service and use the expressionhandler that comes with it? I've seen in CVS that it's also possible to use EL there, correct?
